The Chairman of Interim Management Committee, Gbenga Elegbeleye has said that no team participating in the Super Six will get undue home advantage over other clubs.
Super Six is
a competition where top three NPFL clubs from group A and group B will clash to
determine the eventual winner of the 2022/23 NPFL season.
Elegbeleye
during his speech in Lagos said a lot of factors would be put into
consideration before making the final decision on the venue for the super six.
Speaking
also on the venue issue during the conference is IMC’s Head of Operations,
Davidson Owumi who on his part disclosed that Lagos and Abuja have been
pencilled down as provisional venues.
“We are
keeping the issue of venue very close to our chest. We will look at several
factors before announcing it. First and foremost, we would want to be fair to
the teams in terms of neutrality. We have to consider marketing, TV friendly
nature of the venue and all that,” Owumi said.
With few
games left to end the regular season, teams are still justling for a place in
the off-season super six.
As at week
12, Bendel Insurance, Akwa United and Remo Stars are the top three teams in
group A while Lobi Stars, Rivers United and Doma are 1st, 2nd and 3rd teams in
group B.
