Heartland FC
dropped to relegation zone when they suffered a shock 0-1 defeat to Ikorodu
United at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri on Sunday.
Hussaini was
instrumental during his side’s 2-0 win over Niger Tornadoes in matchday 34
clash on Sunday. He scored the second goal that earned Borno Armies maximum
three points in the clash after Chinedu Iheanacho had netted the first goal
early in the match. He has now scored three goals this season.
In a chat
with Sportinglens.blogspot.com, Hussaini
believes a win over Heartland will help them to end the season among the top
five.
“We are preparing for our next home game
against Heartland and by the special grace of God we will make sure we will beat
Heartland in Maiduguri which will encourage us for the game against Kano
Pillars. By the special grace of God, I am hopeful that at the end of the
season we can finish among the top five,” Hussaini told Sportinglens.blogspot.com.
The former Frimpong
Football Academy of Minna has admitted that Niger Tornadoes gave his team a
good fight despite winning by 2-0 during Sunday’s week 34 league tie at the El
Kanemi Warriors Stadium in Maiduguri.
The leggy
defender expressed delight to have scored against his town club.
“Niger
Tornadoes match was very tough match for us. The officiating was 50-50 and
Niger Tornadoes are my home town team that was why the match was a little bit
difficult for us, but I found the game very easy because I know most of their
players. We have played together when we were playing at the grassroot level
and I thanked God that I scored against them,” Hussaini said.
