Rangers
International Football Club of Enugu, is set to break the 32 years league trophy-less jinx, with the last game of
the 2015/2016 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) match against El-Kanemi Warriors FC of Maiduguri at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium,
Enugu on Sunday by 4pm.
Sportinglens.blogspot.com reports that the coal city side is going into the last game of the season
with an emphatic three points clear of second placed Rivers United FC of Port Harcourt. Rangers Intl. is leading the league summit with 60 points from 37
matches while Rivers United are second with 57 points. Rangers’
needs only one point to lift the trophy which has eluded the team for the past 32 years.
The club’s 2-1 win over Ikorodu United on Sunday in Abeokuta was
what the flying Antelopes needed to consolidate their hold on the league table
and one step closer to lift the 2015/2016 league trophy.
Expected
to be in Enugu to watch the last league game on Sunday, include football
stakeholders, NFF President, Amaju Melvin
Pinnic and other NFF officials, LMC Chairman, Shehu Dikko, the Chief
Executive, Mr Nduka Trobor, and other LMC officials, League Partners, Sports Journalists,
Ex-internationals and thousands of soccer and Rangers Intl. FC fans from within
Nigeria and in Diaspora.
Some
notable Rangers supporters, Chief Benson Ejindu, Patron Ex-Rangers Intl.
players based in U.S, Engr. Osita Ngwu MD, RG, Groups, Chief Festus Onu,
Rangers FC board Chairman had made financial promises to the team if they beat
El-Kanemi on Sunday and lift the League title.
