midfielder, Mathias Samuel continues his impressive run in the ongoing season
as he netted his 11th goal of the season during his side’s 2-1 win over Rivers
United in the matchday 21 of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) encounter
in Maiduguri on Sunday, Sportinglens.blogspot.com reports.
The former
Kano Pillars star scored from the spot in the 11th minute when center referee awarded
a penalty for the homers after Bello Kofarmata was fouled in the 18 yard box. Kofarmata
had earlier put the ball in the net in the second minute but it was ruled out
for offside.

New signing
Bala Yahuza scored the second goal from a goalmouth scramble in the 81th minute.
Yahuza joined El Kanemi warriors from Sunshine Stars during the mid-transfer
window. Yahuza almost grabbed his brace in
the 89th minute but his effort was deflected away for a corner kick.
However, Onoriode
Odah who came on for Nzube Anaezemba in the 87th minute scored a consolation
goal for the visitors with his debut goal in the 90th minute but his effort was
not enough to stop Rivers United from defeat.
The win
moved El Kanemi Warriors to second position on the log with 36 points.
