Wikki
Tourists Media Officer, Nasiru Kobi has denied media speculations that the club
is planning to employ former Rangers Technical Adviser, Imama Amapakabo as new
Technical Adviser.
Kobi said Amapakabo
was not among the three coaches shortlisted for the position which was declared vacant following the exit of former manager Mohammed Babaganaru.
Sportinglens.blogspot.com had last week reported that the club has appointed former Katsina United head coach Bala Nikyu as new Technical Adviser.
“The
attention of Wikki Tourist FC management has been drawn to an online
publication on the club's plan to employ former Rangers Coach Imama Amapakabo
as the new Technical Adviser of the club. We wish to categorically dissociate
ourselves from that publication and to also state that Wikki Tourists has never
contacted Imama or anybody on his behalf. As a matter of fact the club has
already shortlisted three coaches one of which will be appointed as the new
Technical Adviser and Imama is not among them,” Kobi said.
