Expectations
of Musa's quality grew after he scored a stunning second-half brace against
Barcelona in the International Champions Cup last pre-season.
The Nigeria
international has scored four goals in all competitions: two in the Premier
League, in successive games against Crystal Palace and Tottenham in October,
and two in the FA Cup victory at Everton.
Musa,
though, is currently behind Jamie Vardy, Shinji Okazaki, Leonardo Ulloa and
Islam Slimani in the strikers' pecking order, while Marc Albrighton, Riyad
Mahrez and Demarai Gray are all ahead of him in the wingers' stakes.
The Mirror
report today that Musa could consider his future if City do, as expected, look
to strengthen their attacking options even further in the summer.
City boss
Craig Shakespeare believes that some players who come from abroad, such as
Musa, need time to develop and adapt to English football.
"Lot of
players who come from abroad take time settle in," said Shakespeare.
"Some hit the ground running, some need a pre-season."
