friendly matches within a week after completing their one month pre-season
camping in Benin City, Edo State, Sportinglens.blogspot.com reveals.
The club’s
media officer, Anthony Obaseki said the management took decision to play
quality friendly matches in order to have a well prepared team before the commencement
of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) in January.
Obaseki told Sportinglens.blogspot.com that the Borno Army left Benin City on Friday for their
playing tour of Abia State, Nasarawa State, Jos, Bauchi and Yobe State
respectively.
The team started
their friendly campaign on Friday evening when they defeated Abia Warriors 1-0 in
Umuahia. The coach Imama Amapakabo tutored side will travel to Lafia on
Saturday and play Nasarawa United on Sunday.
The squad
will go to Jos on Monday when they are expected to face the league Champions,
Plateau United. The Maiduguri-based outfit will leave Jos to Bauchi to lock

and play against the newly promoted Yobe Stars on Friday.
The team is
expected to travel with 40 players registered for the new season.
“The team
has rounded up their pre-season camping in Benin City and we are very grateful
to student, staff and management of UNIBEN for hosting us. We thank the
Governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima for all he has been doing for the team
and the management board led by Zanna Mala Kakaje. I believe this tour will
help the team prepare for the season very well. We have signed 40 players for
the new season,” Obaseki said to Sportinglens.blogspot.com.
