The management
of Yobe Desert Stars has announced the appointment of Mohammed Baba Ganaru as
the technical adviser ahead of the forthcoming Nigeria Professional Football
League (NPFL) season, Sportinglens.blogspot.com.
The State Director of Sports, Abubakar Ago,
who broke the news to Sportinglens.blogspot.com on Tuesday, said the former Wikki Tourists
manager signed a year deal with the club after both parties agreed on
contractual terms.
Ago said the
club also appointed former Kaduna United coach, Taiye Yusuf as the chief coach
while Salau Nera will serve as coach. Alhaji Udu is the goalkeeper trainer.
The retired
FIFA badged Referee said the club believe in the ability of Ganaru and his
technical crew while hoping for an eventful outing in the league.
Ago thanked
the executive Governor of Yobe State, Ibrahim Geidam for his moral and financial
support to the team.
“We are
happy to confirm the appointment of Baba Ganaru as our technical adviser. The technical
crew was carefully chosen based on their experiences in the league. We want to
thank His Excellency, Governor Ibrahim Geidam for the financial assistant to
the team. All the success of the team can’t be achieved without the support of
the Governor. I met this club when they were
playing in the Amateur and within two years I took them to the NPFL. We are in the
league to stay,” Ago said to Sportinglens.blogspot.com.
Sportinglens.blogspot.com understands that Ganaru participated in their team’s evening training session yesterday and his unveiling would be done later.
