Kano Pillars
technical adviser, Ibrahim Musa has said that Sai Masu Gida is poised to win
all title in the forthcoming season, Sportinglens.blogspot.com reports.
Musa led the
Pyramid City outfit to win this year's prestigious Gold Cup pre-season tournament after defeating the defending Champions, Lobi Stars of Makurdi 1-0 at
the Kwara State Stadium in Ilorin on Friday.
Rabiu Ali's
33rd minute’s effort was all Sai Masu Gida needed to claim the title for the
second time. It was a sweet revenge as Lobi Stars denied Pillars the chance of
winning the title last year when they stopped the northern club side in the
semi-final.
The former
league champions were rewarded with a giant trophy and the sum of three hundred
thousand naira for winning title.
In a chat
with Sportinglens.blogspot.com, Musa said his team's victory was a collective effort
from the government, management, technical crew and the players.
"I am
happy that we won the title. This is a sign of good preparation for the new
season. It is a collective effort, from government, management, players and
technical crew. We also appreciate our fans too. The tournament gave us the
opportunity to test our new players and we will go home to correct all the
mistakes noticed during the competition.
"The
team is starting blending well, we played six matches during the tournament and
we didn’t lose any game. We had played three friendly games before the
tournament too and we won everything. We are going to participate in another
pre-season tournament and NPFL Super six in Kano. It is my wish and everybody
here to win all the available title this season," Musa said to Sportinglens.blogspot.com.
