Nigeria's
Super Eagles came from two goals down to beat Argentina 4-2 in an international
friendly encounter at the Krasnodar Stadium in Russia on Tuesday.
Ever Banega
shot the Albiceleste in front after capitalising on a bizarre error from Daniel
Akpeyi by firing home a free-kick after the goalkeeper inexplicably picked the
ball up outside his area.
Manchester
City star Sergio Aguero was on hand to slot home from close range after fine
work from Cristian Pavon out wide had stretched the Nigeria defence. That
strike put Argentina 2-0 up.
Kelechi
Iheanacho later narrowed the deficit with a fine set-piece of his own on the
stroke of half time.
Nigeria returned
for the second half with three changes as Akpeyi, Abdullahi, Aina were substituted for Ebuehi, Uzoho, Idowu which made coach Genet Rohr side more
formidable than what they were in the first half.
Arsenal
forward Alex Iwobi leveled up for Nigeria in the 49 minute before Brian Idowu,
who made his debut for Super Eagles, made it three for Nigeria in the 54
minute.
Iwobi netted
his second goal of the night when he scored the fourth goal to seal the victory
over Argentina.
There was
concern Aguero when he collapsed during Argentina's defeat by Nigeria in Russia
on Tuesday.
Aguero is
said to have fainted at half time before he was replaced by substitute Dario
Benedetto.
City, who
play Leicester on Saturday, are awaiting medical reports before the striker
returns home.
