Professional Football League sides, Lobi Stars FC , Nasarawa United and Niger
Tornadoes were all crowned champions of their respective states Aiteo Federation Cup winners
in the finals decided on Sunday, Sportinglens.blogspot.com reports.
League
leaders, Lobi Stars defeated Minda FC 3-2 on penalties to emerge winner in Benue
state final after both sides played out a goalless draw at the regulation
period.
In Lafia,
Nasarawa United beat Aklosendi 4-3 on penalties to claim victory over
their state rivals following a 2-2 draw at the regulation time.
In Minna, Niger
Tornadoes emerged Niger State Federation Cup Champions after defeating Tornadoes
Feeder 1-0 in the football men's final at the Bako Kontagora Memorial Stadium,
Minna on Sunday.
Yahya Yusuf’s
14th minute goal was all Ikoh Allah needed to retain the state
title. The two finalists will represent the state in the national competition.
To reach the final stage, Tornadoes Feeder
team defeated Oyah Soccer Academy FC of Suleja by a lone goal in the first semi
final while Niger Tornadoes FC of Minna beat Chiroman Pawa FC also of Minna by
3-1 in the second semi final which was decided at the Bako Kontagora Memorial
Stadium last Friday.
Meanwhile, Shooting
Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan will face Crown FC of Ogbomoso is the Oyo
State Federation Cup final on June 12, 2018. The Oluyole Warriors thrashed Pace
Setters FC 4 - 0 in the semi final clash over the weekend. The Ibadan warlords
worked over Green Berets FC in the quarter final.
Crown FC of
Ogbomoso qualified for the final after spanking Saki FC 4-0 in the second semi
final.
