It was a
rare occasion for the players and officials of the Wikki Tourists of Bauchi as
they enjoyed their Tuesday evening training session as it 'snowed' Ice rain at
the new complex stadium Zaria road, Jos in preparing for the rescheduled
Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) against Plateau United,
Sportinglens.blogspot.com reports.
The Big
Elephants are currently using Jos Stadium as their home ground due to the
ongoing renovation at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi.
The excited
players, who were supervised by the team’s technical adviser Bala Nikyu, took
time to pick the snow-like ice.
The club
described the incident as a sign of victory in their game against league
champions.
Speaking to Sportinglens.blogspot.com after the training session, the club’s media officer, Bala Kurba
said the players were not disturbed by the Ice rain and continued with their
training without hindrance.
“It was a
good feeling for all of us. The players were not worried at all about it at
all. They even trained very hard because we may likely witness the same
situation on Wednesday against Plateau United. I believe it is a sign of a good
thing to come for us in the match,” Kurba said to Sportinglens.blogspot.com.
