The management of Wikki Tourists of
Bauchi has parted ways with eight of their players in the ongoing Nigeria
Professional Football League (NPFL) mid transfer window, Sportinglens.blogspot.com reports.
The club’s General Manager Auwalu Baba
Jada said the decision was taken as part of the management’s effort to
reorganize the team for the greater challenge in the second stanza.
The players according to Baba Jada are
Chima Ndukwu, Jonathan Okeke, Bertto (a Cameroonian), Zaka Bala, Hassan Hussain,
Godday Daddy and Onuoha Chukwu.
The GM also revealed to Sportinglens.blogspot.com that the club will beef up the team with additional four players before the
closing of transfer window.
“Our intention is to make this team a
formidable one and we want to work with players who are ready to give
everything to the team. I am not ready to stop any player from seeking greener
pasture elsewhere if that is what will give progress to the team. As long as we
are focused and determined, we will always get our desired result. We have
released eight players from our team and we are planning to bring in new four
players,” Baba Jada told Sportinglens.blogspot.com.
Baba Jada also said that he is happy
with the team’s performance so far this season and expecting better
performance in the second stanza.
“We are not doing badly in the league
but I know there would be an improve performance in the second round. The essence of fortifying the team is to make
sure that all the lapses noticed in the first round is adequately corrected. We
have drawn four matches at home and get a draw away from home which is not a
bad outing for me. We always performed better in our away matches but we were
sometimes unlucky.”
