Kano Pillars technical adviser Ibrahim A. Musa
has decried Heartland FC delayed tactics pattern during Sunday’s matchday 19
Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) (NPFL) game, stressing that they
could have scored more goals if the opponents opened the game.
Two goals
from Junior Lokosa in each half of the game at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano
gave Sai Masu Gida all three points at stake in the encounter.
But in a
chat with SportingLife, Musa admitted that Heartland was a good side but he
against their style of play which he said does not fit modern football.
“Heartland was a good side if they really want
to play good football. They didn’t come here for result because they didn’t
allow the game to be played. They came here with delayed tactics, even when
they possessed the ball they still played backward. It was the same thing when
they played free-kick.Their pattern was not god for football. If they had
opened the game we could have scored more goals,” Musa said to SportingLife.
“It was a
good game for us and we could have scored six goals. In the first half we had
so many scoring chances but we missed it and managed to score only one goal in
the first half. During the half time, I talked to the boys that we could not
afford to be wasteful if we really want to win big. We experienced missed
chances in the second half too but we scored the second goal and I am happy we
won.”
