The management of Plateau United on Monday unveiled Fidelis Ilechukwu as the new Technical Adviser ahead of the 2021-2022 campaign.

The former Heartland FC of Owerri gaffer was presented to the public by the club’s General Manager Pius Henwan after signing a two-year contract with the club.

Ilechukwu replaced former manager Abdul Maikaba who left the Jos-based outfit after the expiration of his three contracts with the club.

The former Dream Team VII assistant coach signed for the Naze Millionaires two years ago, after ending his 14-year association with MFM FC.

He helped Heartland survived relegation in just concluded 2020-2021 Nigeria Professional Football League season, despite being owed a backlog of salaries.

Plateau United finished 9th last term and Ilechukwu is expected to use his wealth of experience to improve the team's performance.

Ilechukwu will be assisted by Coach Hamza Abara who was also unveiled as the team’s Chief Coach today. Abara worked with Enyimba FC of Aba last season as the Chief Coach.

Meanwhile, the club also used the occasion to unveil new players recruited to beef up the squad.

Notably among the new players include, Samuel Mathias who joined the club from Lobi Stars and former Kano Pillars goalkeeper, Suraj Ayeleso.
