Players and
officials of Kano Pillars are expected to arrive in Benin City on Saturday for
camping in preparation for the 2018 Aiteo Cup final against Rangers
International FC of Enugu slated for Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, Delta State
on Wednesday, Sportinglens.blogspot.com reports.
The club’s
Team Manager, Kabiru Baleria told Sportinglens.blogspot.com that 22 players and 9 officials made
the trip.
Baleria said
the team, which flew by Arik Airline, left Kano to Lagos yesterday evening before
connecting another Arik Airline this morning to Benin City in Edo State.
The former
Golden Eaglets assistant coach said the team will leave Benin City to Asaba on
Monday.
Baleria
commended Kano State Government and the club’s management for the support to players
and officials of the team.
“We are very
grateful to the State Government and the club’s management for this gesture.
This will definitely make things easy for the players and nobody will complain
of fatigue. We will also have enough time to prepare for the final match.
On Thursday,
the State Government through the club’s management paid all our bonuses and we
are in good mood for the game. We are praying to God Almighty to give us the
day on Wednesday and win the trophy. It is very important to us because this
will be the first time to get our hands in the trophy. We will give everything
to it,” Baleria said to Sportinglens.blogspot.com.
Irrespective of the financial outcome, however, it was considered a success. onebidwonders.com offers some in-depth insights on college football bowl game.
