Sportinglens.blogspot.com can report that the technical crew of Kano Pillars has submitted a proposal of
a five-day training camping in Benin City to the club’s management ahead of the
AITEO Cup final clash against Rangers International FC of Enugu slated for
Asaba, Delta State on Wednesday.
The club’s
technical adviser Ibrahim Musa told Sportinglens.blogspot.com that the letter was
submitted to the management last Friday.
He said the
technical crew made the plans to enable the players have full preparation and
acclimatize with weather condition in the area before the final.
Musa
explained further that the team will move to Asaba two days before the game.
“That was
our plans and we are hopeful for the approval from the management. This is the
final clash and we need more concentration to enable us get a deserving result
in the final. We are facing one of the best teams in the country and we have to
prepare very well for it. We want to have five days training camping in Benin
City to strategise for the game and move to Asaba two days before the game,”
Musa said to Sportinglens.blogspot.com.
Musa however
said the team has realised its mistakes and will work on it before the final.
“We have
noticed some areas we need to work on before the final game against Rangers. We
scored two goals against Katsina United in the semi-final and we thought it was
all over and our boys relaxed and allowed Katsina United came back from two
goals down and got eqauliser. I observed two things in the game; we made some
defensive errors and our strikers were very selfish as well.
“They were
always eager to score that was why they made some errors. The same thing
happened in the game against Enyimba FC in the quarter-final. We have to solve
this problem and make sure we convert all our chances if we want to beat a team
like Rangers International. Rangers game is going to be a tough match and we
have to get our tactics right.”
