Nwagua, Hillary talk tough ahead of Rangers clash

Kano Pillars duo of Nyima Nwagua and Paul Hillary are confident that Sai Masu Gida will beat Rangers International FC in today’s Aiteo Cup final at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, Sportinglife.blogspot.com reports. 


In separate interviews with Sportinglife.blogspot.com, the players said the team have prepared well and motivated for the game.

Nwagua, who is playing in the cup final for the first time in his career, said he and his colleagues have resolved to give their best to win the trophy.

“We have prepared and motivated for this game and by the grace of God the cup is ours. This is the longest competition in the country and this is the fists time I am playing in the final and we have promised ourselves that we are returning the trophy back to Kano State,” Nwagua said to Sportinglife.blogspot.com.

He added: “The environment in Asaba is cool. I am familiar with the environment because I am from this region. With the spirit in camp now, we are set and ready for the game. We want our support to pray for us and we will not disgrace them.”

Speaking in the same vein, Hillary said the team has quality to win the trophy and they will not disappoint their fans.

“By the grace of God Kano Pillars will be the champions of the Aiteo Cup 2018. It has been a great journey and all the players have shown their best and by the grace of God c
ome Wednesday we shall be smiling home. With the caliber of players and technical crew in this team I believe we can do it.

“The support from the state government has been huge. His Excellency has been strongly behind the team. We are really appreciating the government support. We want to make our fans proud as the champions tomorrow,” Hillary said.
