Katsina
United are optimistic of victory against Kano Pillars in the semi-final clash
of the Aiteo Cup competition on Wednesday at the Agege Stadium, Sportinglens.blogspot.com reports.
Speaking in separate interviews with Sportinglens.blogspot.com, Destiny Ashadi and Obinna Eleje stressed that 'The Chanji Boys' have done enough to reach this stage and they will give everything to the
game against Kano Pillars.
The club’s
utility player, Ashadi said the team will work together to get victory
against Kano Pillars.
“In every
game, we have to prepare very well for it and we have been doing it since the
beginning of this competition. We are in the semi-final now and we have to put
everything into it to get victory against Kano Pillars and reach the final,”
Ashadi said to Sportinglens.blogspot.com.
He added:
Before the game against Kwara United in the quarter final it was not easy but
we gave everything to it and it paid off for us. I believe that if we work
together we can achieve a lot of thing in this competition.”
Speaking in
the same vein, the club’s striker, Eleje said the team is full of young
and experienced players that are ready for success. He added that they want to
use Aiteo Cup to prove to Nigerians that Katsina United is a better team.
“The team is
a mixture of young and experienced players and Seventy percent of the team is
young and very talented. Right from the
very first day, we have the ambition of achieving something with the club,”
Eleje told Sportinglens.blogspot.com.
“We were not
happy the way the league ended because our intention was to pick continental
ticket. We were in the good position before the league ended abruptly; If not
for the way the league ended, we would have picked a continental ticket. After
the league drama, we tasked ourselves to use this Aiteo Cup to prove to the
whole Nigeria that Katsina United have a better team to represent this country
in the continent."
