Kano Pillars thrash Enyimba, to face Katsina United in semi final

Kano Pillars defeated Enyimba FC 4-2 in the Aiteo quarter-final clash played at the Pantami Stadium, Gombe on Sunday afternoon, Sportinglens.blogspot.com reports.

The former league champions will now face Katsina United in the semi final clash on Wednesday at the Agege Stadium.

The People Elephants opened scoring in the 10th minute through Chukwude Stephen but the legendry Kano Pillars midfielder Rabiu Ali equalised for the Pyramid City outfit to end the first half 1-1.

On the resumption of the second half, Kano Pillars left back Chris Madaki put his side ahead for the first time in the game to make things look easy for coach Ibrahim Musa
-tutored side.

Kano Pillars right back Ifeanyi Nweke double the lead when he netted his side’s third goal.

Nwagua Nyima completed the rout when he scored the fourth goal and cemented Kano Pillars’ semi final spot. The goal came within the six minutes added time. Sunday Adetunji scored a late minute goal for Enyimba via penalty kick to make the final score at 4-2.

The northern outfit is making his way to the semifinals for the first time in five years. The last time Sai Masu Gida reached the last four of the competition was in 2013. The team lost 1-0 to Osun United in the third place clash at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.
