Kano State Deputy Governor, Dr Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna has charged
Kano Pillars FC to go to Wednesday's Aiteo Cup final against Rangers full of hope
and determination to win the trophy, Sportinglens.blogspot.com reports.
Gawuna made the charge when he addressed the players and the
technical crew during their last training session at the Stephen Keshi Stadium,
Asaba on Tuesday evening.
The Deputy Governor encouraged the players to write their
names in the history book of the club by winning the trophy for the first time.
“You have to come all out tomorrow like a fighter and win the
cup. You have come a long way to reach this stage and we can’t afford to lose
it at this moment. You need to be focused and determined to achieve this. The State
Government and people of Kano are behind you. So you should go to the pitch
tomorrow to make people of the state proud by writing your names in gold. I am
assuring you that the State Government will reward you with what you never
expected in your football career if you lift the trophy on Wednesday,” Gawuna said to the team.
However, the chairman of Kano Pillars supporters club Bashir
Muazu revealed to Sportinglens.blogspot.com that over one thousand fans had arrived in Asaba
from Kano State to cheer the team to victory.
Mauzu said the fans arrived with 12 luxury buses and 10
coaster buses.
He stressed that he and his team would mobilize their fans from
Warri, Asaba and it’s environs to the stadium today.
“We are fully on ground now and we are ready to give our
support to the team on Wednesday. We are very hopeful that we will win this
trophy,” Bashir said.
