Garba: I turned down FC Ifeanyi Ubah to join Gombe Utd

.Vows to make Savannah scorpions great again

Technical Adviser of Gombe United coach Manu Garba (OON) has revealed that he turned down money-spinning offers from top clubs in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) to accept Gombe United deal as a way to contribute his part to the success of the club.

The Golden Eaglets coach made the revelation after signing a contractual agreement and official unveiling at the Emerald Hotel, Gombe.

Garba assured to work toward making the Savannah scorpions a title contender in the forthcoming league with the support of the state government and all stake holders.

"I declined lucrative offers from top premier league clubs like Ifeanyi Uba FC and accepted Gombe United. As a son of the soil this is just to contribute my quota towards the success of the club,” Garba said.

The General Manager of the club, Alh. Salisu Ahmad Adviser said the target set for Garba is to win a continental ticket for the club at the end of the season while assuring that he and his board will not interfere in the technical crew job.

He applauded Governor Dankwambo for the passion he has for the club and his relentless financial support to the club.

However, the former Executive Chairman of the State Sports Commission, Malam Farouk Yarma advised the board not to mount pressure on the new gaffer considering the fact that the club is just returning back to the premier league after two years sojourn in the Nigeria National League (NNL), but rather the ultimate target is for the club to remain in the league at the end of the season.
