Gombe Utd drop ten players

The newly promoted side, Gombe United have released ten players ahead of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season. The dropped players, according to the club's head of media Taminu Umar, were based on recommendation from the technical crew. The management board has since approved the release of ten players.
The dropped players are Chinedu Kawawa and Obinna Akuchie (Goalkeepers), Douglas Uzama (Left full back), Shehu Maijama'a  Demeron Efevwie (Central defenders) and  Sarki Adewale Kabiru (Midfielder).

Others are Tasi’u Mohammed, Alaba Johnson, Nnanna Orji, Shuaibu Amadu (Strikers).

The club’s chief coach, Hassan Abubakar disclosed to Sportinglens.blogspot.com that a lot were considered before the players were dropped.

“It is normal thing to do after the season. Some players will be dropped while some will come in. The technical crew sat down and came out with the decision. It was a collective decision. We have technical committee that verified our recommendations and a lot of things were considered before we came out with those names. The technical committee did their own job too; the screening is still on going to pick the best players for the team,” Abubakar said to Sportinglens.blogspot.com.

“The board would like to thank these players and wish them the very best as they seek for other clubs to continue their careers. We thank them for their services to the club, especially in our promotion drive which was successful.”
