.To drop 10 players
Niger Tornadoes FC of Minna have arrived in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State for a closed doors pre-season exercise ahead of the 2016/2017 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season. The club’s head coach, Abubakar Bala confirmed that the club was in Ado Ekiti with 40 players with the aim of reducing the number to 30 at the end of the camping, stressing that Ikoh Allah is at the last stage of concluding the screening exercise.

"We are here to make our last practice and allow our new boys to get to understand themselves with the players retained. We came here (Ado Ekiti) with about 40 players as the exercise continue we will prone the team to 30 players and we are going to be fast about it, as we anticipate that the NPFL will commence next month", Bala said.

He added that after the Ado Ekiti exercise the team will then climax its programme with the Gold Cup tourney.

Bala who recently was confirmed as Niger Tornadoes head coach said that he was happy with the discipline of both new and old players in camp especially the maturity that they have exhibited so far.

“I urge you all to be more dedicated and firm in training as we wrap up the final stage of this preseason exercise as anyone who performed below expectation would not make the final list of those to be registered for the league campaign," he told his players.
He applauded the club’s management committee for not only approving the preseason exercise but for also providing the funds for it, promising that the best crop of players would be picked at the end devoid of sentiments.

"The present technical crew are prepared to select the best legs, we have learnt enough from our mistakes in last year’s recruitment and we will not repeat same this year," Bala promised.
