Nigeria Professional Football League
(NPFL) club, Rivers United will face amateur club, City Strikers in a tune up
game in Abuja on Thursday, November 24. The tune up game which will hold
represents the fifth the Port Harcourt club will be prosecuting since
pre-season preparations began on November 1.
On Friday, November 25, Rivers United
will face another Abuja-based amateur football club, Abuja Selected FC in yet
another tune up game as preparations for the 2016/17 season intensify.
On Wednesday, technical manager of the
club, Stanley Eguma oversaw a training session that involved 28 outfield
players and five goal keepers for two hours between 4-6pm.
The session took place at the Area Three
football pitch, Abuja.
Afterwards, two members of the football
club, striker; Guy Kuemian and club captain, Festus Austin spoke to the club’s
official website, www.riversunitedfc.ng.
