Ondo State Government
has constituted a three-man panel to look into the management of the Ondo State
Football Development Agency (OSFA).
According to a statement from the office of the Chief
Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Segun Ajiboye, the state government approved
the setting up of the panel following reports of alleged ineffectiveness and
inefficiencies of the agency.
The Committee has one month to submit its report.
Members of the panel, according to Ajiboye, are former Director
General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Gbenga Elegbeleye who is to
serve as the chairman while Elder Mike Adeyeye will be a member/secretary. Mr. Tunde Ogunja – member—completed the
three-man panel.
The terms and reference of the panel, according the
release, is to immediately take over the day-to-day running of the agency.
They are to reorganize and reposition the Agency for
greater efficiency to enable it delivers on its stated mandate. To review the
over-bloated staff population of the Agency to a manageable size.
They were also mandated to ensure that Sunshine Football
Club and the Sunshine Queens are not relegated and to examine the various
transactions carried out by the Agency in the last four years.
The panel is to take inventory of all assets and
liabilities of the Agency and make recommendations to government on the
foregoing and on such other matters as may be found necessary.
