Nasarawa
United defeated Akwa United 1-0 in Thursday's week 11 Nigeria Professional
Football League clash at the Lafia Township Stadium.
Adamu Hassan’s
34th minute goal gives his team maximum three points at stake in the encounter.
Akwa
United's best chance for an equaliser came in the 59th minute but Ifeanyi
Ifeanyi's attempt was over the bar.
The victory
was Nasarawa's third this season so far after 11 games.
The Solid Miners now
move up to 12th on 13 points in the league table, usurping Akwa on better goals
difference.
Nasarawa's
next game comes up this weekend when they travel away to face Niger Tornadoes
on matchday 12.
Akwa will
hope to put the disappointment of losing to Nasarawa behind them when they
welcome another northern team El-Kanemi who are second behind leaders Plateau
United on the log.
