Enyimba FC
technical adviser Paul Aigbogun is not happy with his side’s goalless draw
against Rivers United in the Match Day 21 of the Nigeria Premier League clash
on Thursday at the Umuahia Stadium.
The game
which was originally billed to hold at the Umuahia Township stadium on
Wednesday was moved forward by 24 hours as Abia Warriors faced Ikorodu United
in another NPFL game at the same venue on Wednesday.
A visibly
disappointed Aigbogun refused to speak to the media after the game when his
wards failed to get maximum three points in the game to boost their position on
the log.
But his counterpart,
Stanley Eguma took the time to address questions afterwards.
“The two
sides played good football and the game was enjoyable. It was a compact and
keenly-contested game and the only thing lacking was a goal. If we had taken
the chances that came our way, we could have even won the game,” Eguma said.
The point leaves United in third place on the
NPFL log with 35 points from 20 matches, two points adrift of the leaders,
Wikki Tourists while Enyimba are in sixth place with 31 points from 19 matches.
