Nwakali came to prominence after helping Nigeria win
last year's FIFA U17 World Cup in Chile, where he was named player of the
tournament.
Arsenal were first linked with a move for the
midfielder in January.
Later that month Arsene Wenger confirmed he was in the
hunt for Nwakali along with his Nigerian team-mate Samuel Chukwueze.
However the 18-year-old’s move to London looked to be
on the verge of collapse due to work permit problems.
Reports earlier this month suggested the move was back
on and the teenager had agreed a five-year deal with the Gunners.
And Nwakali has now seemingly confirmed he has
completed his move to Arsenal by tweeting that his new life has begun at the
London club.
Nwakali tweeted: “New Life Begins @Arsenal,” and he
changed his Twitter bio to: “Footballer for Arsenal FC and Nigeria U20 Nike
Athlete.”
He also shared a Facebook post of him posing with an
Arsenal shirt.
