NPFL Title: Rangers' players, officials yet to hear from Enugu State Government

Players and officials of Rangers international of Enugu are still in the dark about  the State Government plans for them for winning 2015/2016 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) this season.

The Flying Antelopes won the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) title last week after 32 years, beating visiting El-Kanemi Warriors by 4-0 at a fully packed Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu.

The State Governor, Lawrence Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and some dignitaries were in attendance for their last game against El Kanemi Warriors.

Sportinglens.blogspot.com reports that the players and officials are yet to receive any official messages from the government concerning their league triumph.

A source who close to the team informed that the players are still in camp in Enugu and waiting anxiously to hear from the state government.

“As at the moment, we are yet to hear anything from the State Government on what to do to the team for winning the league title. Our technical adviser Imama Amapakabo travelled to Zambia with the Super Eagles while the players are still here in Enugu. Whatever the case maybe what is important is the trophy that we won. We thanked God for the achievement,” a source told Sportinglens.blogspot.com.

On Saturday, the Executive Governor of Rivers State, Ezenwo Nyesom Wike (CON) rewarded Rivers United with cash gift and promised that the team would camp in Madrid for their CAF Champions League.

The club’s technical adviser, Stanley Eguma was given N1, 000, 000 while players and other officials received with N500, 000 each for their efforts for emerging in the second position at the end of the season.
