Former Green
Eagles captain, Christian Chukwu and other ex internationals have commended the Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for his invaluable contribution, selflessness, support,
passion and commitment in motivating Rangers Intl. FC Enugu towards winning the
coveted 2015/2016 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
In a
communiqué issued in Enugu after an emergency meeting, the Enugu State Football
Stakeholders, described Rangers’ NPFL title as memorable and a reward for
excellence, perseverance, commitment, hard work and resoluteness to succeed
against all odds.
The Stakeholders
which include Chukwu, Innocent Obiekwo, Stanley Okonkwo, Ifeanyi Onyedika, and
Ikpechukwu lauded Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for his exemplary leadership role,
and resolve in achieving this unique feat which his predecessors could not in
the past 32 years, describing him as a soccer lover, achievers, benefactor and
Rangers number one supporter.
They implored
Governor Ugwuanyi to sustain his massive support and financial assistance to
the club especially now that they are representing Nigeria at the CAF Champions
League competition, adding that no stone should be left unturned in Rangers’
quest to win the trophy during his tenure.
They also
called on the management of the club to start adequate preparations which
include; early camping, providing necessary logistics for players, technical
and other officials so as to meet up for the challenges ahead.
The
Stakeholders also appreciated the invaluable roles of some super fans and
supporters of the team that has contributed in Rangers attaining this
extraordinary feat in football, as well as seeking for sustained assistance and
support.
