
The Bauchi-based side finished third position on
the league table which gives them the chance to play in the CAF Confederation
Cup next season.
According to the club’s media officer, Nasiru
Abdullahi Kobi, Governor Abubakar has achieved a unique feat which his
predecessors have tried to accomplish in the past 18 years when the club last
played at the continental level, insisting that the Governor’s financial
backing helped the team to make a laudable achievement this session.

Kobi has
however extended the club’s appreciation to fans of the club for solidly behind
the team this season. He also commended the media for full coverage of the team
in the year in review.
“Our fans really exhibited true sportsmanship for
their love and support to the team this season. Their never-to-say-die attitude
throughout this season is commendable. We promise not to disappoint them in the
continental assignment. We thank our friend in the media for the full coverage
of our team. We also thanked everybody who contributed in one way or the other
for this achievement,” he added.
Kobi also assured that the management of the club
will work very hard in ensuring that they present a formidable team for the
NPFL and CAF Confederation cup next season.
“What we achieved this season is a challenge to us
and we want to surpass it next season. Our management under our amiable
chairman Hon. Isa Matori is promising our fans that they will see the best of
Wikki Tourists next season. It will be a collective responsibility of everybody
and we will not leave any stone unturned in ensuring that we achieve something
tangible next season.”
