Wikki Tourists deny Maibaka's resignation rumour

The Management of Wikki Tourists of Bauchi has denied media reports claiming that it's technical adviser, Abdul Maikaba has left the club.

Maikaba guided the Bauchi-based side to the third position at the just concluded Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) and qualified for the CAF Champions League.

The club's media officer, Nasiru Abdullahi Kobi urged the general public to disregard the baseless rumour while insisting that Maikaba is still with the club.

"The attention of the Management of Wikki Tourists has been drawn to a rumour making rounds that the coach of the club Abdul Maikaba has resigned. On behalf of Wikki Tourists FC, I wish to categorically state that the alleged resignation is not true; Coach Maikaba is still with the club.
“We consider the rumour as a fabrication by some enemies of the club with the sole intention to distract the attention of the coach, management and players in their preparation for next year's football season and the continental engagement. We therefore call on our esteem supporters to disregard the rumour please," Kobi said in a release.
