Ranieri warns Ahmed Musa to understand EPL style

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has told Nigerian international Ahmed Musa to get use to the English Premier League style of play if he wants to make an impact in the prestigious league.
Musa has not sparkled with Premier League Champions since making a big £16.6m summer money move from CSKA Moscow.

The former Kano Pillars forward has been unable to pin-down a starting place with the Foxes since the 2016/17 season started and has been coming on rarely as a second half substitute.

Ranieri made the warning statement when he was persuading Musa teammate, Bartosz Kapustka who is yet to feature for Leicester in a competitive match since his £7 million arrival at City in the summer.

The 19-year-old is being given time to acclimatise to the demands of English football and Ranieri said both Musa and Kapustka must be stronger in the duels and the tackles.

"He (Kapustka) is more or less the same as Ahmed Musa," said Ranieri.

"Both are very fast and very strong but they have to understand the Premier League. Every match in the Premier League is a very tough match in a very tough league and I want them to be stronger in the duels and the tackles. It is just about understanding the tempo but we have a very good future with them.”

"It is important because they (players) have to answer just on the pitch. If the manager doesn't choose you, you have to be strong and continue to fight. If you slow down you make my job easier because I'm not sad. I will say ' if you don't train well I can't choose you, that's it'.”
