The
management of Wikki Tourists of Bauchi has released 10 players out the squad
registered for the 2016/2017 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL)
season, Sportinglens.blogspot.com reports.
According to
the club’s General Manager, Auwalu Baba Jada, three key members of the squad
goalkeeper Emeka Nwabulu, Chukwudi Samuel and Emenike Onuoha were placed on the
transfer market while the management refused to renew the contract of the
remaining seven players who were on loan at the club.
The
remaining seven players include Lukman Haruna, Victor Yakubu, Anyanwu Nnameka,
Ajoku Chidebere Ismail Bagayan, Ahmed Male and Gambo Gideon.
The Big
Elephants, who qualified for the CAF Confederation Cup in 2015/2016 season,
struggled last season and managed to escape the relegation to the lower
division through the help of the team’s rescue Committee led by Baba Jada.
Sportinglens.blogspot.com understood that over 30 players attended the team’s screening exercise which
started on Tuesday.
The club had
their training session at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University training pitch
on Monday while they conducted Tuesday training at the Federal Polytechnic,
Bauchi.
The
screening was supervised by the team’s technical adviser Bala Nikyu , Chief
coach Mangwut, Patrick Pascal MON and Umar Ilelah.
“Our intention is to get it right this time around by recruiting best leg for the
team,” Baba Jada said to Sportinglens.blogspot.com.
