Enyimba, Wikki, Wolves, through to Fed. Cup Quarter finals

Enyimba FC, Wikki Tourists, Warri Wolves, Rivers United are through to the Quarter finals of this year Federation Cup after winning their round of 16 matches today.

Enyimba qualified to the last 8 after they eliminated El Kanemi 3-1 on penalties after fulltime scores stood at 1-1.

Striker Peter Onyekachi shot Enyimba in front after nine minutes through a sublime header off a Chima Akas cross, before El Kanemi drew level 22 minutes later courtesy of Chinedu Ohanachom after a blunder by skipper Chinedu Udoji.

They will now clash with J. Atete for a place in the quarterfinals of the cup competition.

In the same vein, league leaders, Wikki Tourists of Bauchi edged out Plateau United 1-0 to progress to the next round of the competition. Godwin Obaje first half goal was all the coach Abdul Maikaba-tutored side needed to secure the victory.  

In Makurdi, Warri Wolves defeated Prime FC of Osogbo 6-5 on penalties after full time ended 1-1. Ikenna Ibezim missed his kick for Omoluabi Giants.

At the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi, Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan were knocked out after losing 3-2 on penalties to Rivers United.

Nasarawa United confirmed their superiority over Dynamites Forces as they won by 1-0 to move to the next stage.  


FC Ifeanyi Ubah thrashed Katsina United 2-0 to book their place in the next stage of the tournament.
