The Nigeria
Football Federation (NFF) has advised Super Eagles caretaker coach, Salisu
Yusuf, to perish the thought of becoming Super Eagles substantive manager. According to
Daily SunSports reports, a top official of the soccer federation said that
Yusuf clearly lacks what it takes to manage the Eagles.
“It
surprises me why Yusuf should be dissipating his energy and resources lobbying
to become the substantive coach of the Super Eagles. Put him side by side with
the foreign coaches with high CVs that have applied for the job. He is
certainly not in their class.
“Yusuf has
shown keen interest in the job, but it will take a miracle for him to get it.
“If I were
him, I would concentrate all my energies in lobbying for the assistant position
because as far as the head coach is concerned, he cannot be the person to step
into it. He lacks the credentials.
“The truth
is that no Nigerian coach is the line for the job.”
The
technical committee meets today in Abuja and would after their meeting release
a shortlist of three foreign coaches to be interviewed for the job.
