Shooting
Stars Sports Club (3SC) head coach, Gbenga Ogunbote has shifted his focus on
the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) following his side’s exit in the
Federation Cup Round of 16 clash against Rivers United on Wednesday.
The Oluyole
Warriors’ hope of progressing to the next stage of the competition was dashed
after losing 3-2 to Rivers United on penalties.
Ogunbote,
who identified experience as the tie breaker in the contest against Rivers
United, said his priority now is to see how 3SC will survive the relegation.
“It was
keenly-contested but we need to score. We have one clear chance and if we had
scored, it would have made the difference. These things however happen in
football and there is nothing you can do. They showed more maturity than us in
the penalty shootout but now, we have to concentrate on avoiding relegation in
the (Nigeria Professional Football League),” Ogunbote said.
