Fed Cup: Warri Wolves write protest letter to NFF

Warri Wolves General Manager Moses Etu has confirmed that the club have sent a formal protest letter to the Nigeria Football Federation over the conduct of the centre referee during Wednesday’s Federation Cup quarter-final tie against FC IfeanyiUbah. Etu alleged that his side scored good goal which was disallowed by the centre referee, Ola Olayemi from Ogun State, during their encounter played at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta, with FC IfeanyiUbah leading 1-0 at the time.

Etu also added that the referee made a lot of questionable calls in the encounter against his side.

He debunked claims that it was his side that abandoned the game and stated that it was the referee that blew off the game.

“We have paid the necessary money to enable us to file a protest letter and we have sent a protest letter to the NFF on what happened in the game,” Etu said.

“The performance of the referee in the game was not up to standard and he made a lot of questionable calls against us.

“We scored good goal which he wrongly disallowed. It’s an injustice against us and we hope the NFF will look into the case judiciously.”
