CAF CUP: Ambrose promises to win for Governor Abubakar

By Taofeek Babalola

Wikki Tourist FC central defender, Peter Ambrose has vowed that he and his colleagues will make the Bauchi State Governor, Mohammed A. Abubakar Esq, happy by winning the second leg of the CAF Confederation Cup match against Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF) of Sierra Leone in Bauchi on Sunday.

The Big Elephants lost 2-0 to RSLAF in the first leg encounter in Sierra Leone last Sunday.

Ambrose, who admitted that they disappointed the Governor for the defeat despite his support to the team, promised that with the help of the Almighty God they will come out victorious.

“The support of the Governor to the club is second to none and I am calling on all football supporters to rally round him, I'm happy to have him as my Governor,” Ambrose said.

Sportinglens.blogspot.com reports that Governor Abubakar led the state government delegation to Serial Leone to support Wikki Tourists on Sunday.

The Governor while addressing players, officials of Wikki Tourists and other delegates who accompanied the team to Sierra Leone for the match reiterated his commitment to support sports in the State.

The governor wondered why some critics of his administration could not appreciate his efforts in molding the characters of youths through sports.

According to the governor, his administration will continue to do its best in all sectors including sports.

He charged the players to do the needful by cancelling the two goals deficit and add more goals in the return leg on Sunday so as to qualify for the next round of the competition.
