Rangers will go for win in Algeria, Chukwu promises

The General Manager and Chief Executive Officer, Rangers International FC Christian Chukwu has assured Nigerians of good outing in their first leg preliminary round of CAF Confederation Cup tie against J.S. Saoura FC Algeria on Friday.

The former Green Eagles captain in a chat with Sportinglens.blogspot.com before departing for Algeria said the team is in high spirit, stressing that the contingent received good backing and sending off from the State Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.

He added that the team will do everything to make the country proud in Algeria.

“Well, we are going with high morale. The team received good backing and send-off from the state governor and when your father gave you everything to back you; you can use your leg to break the wall. So we are going to Algeria for victory. We have our plans and strategy in place for the game and I am assuring Nigerians that we won’t come back empty handed,” Chukwu told SportingLife.

The 28-man contingent arrived in Lagos on Tuesday morning and departed for Algeria through Rabat with AIR MAROC on Wednesday morning, before connecting another flight to Saoura City.


The club’s Director Media and Public Relation, Foster Chime said the contingent is made up of 18 Players and 9 officials comprising technical crew, management, medical and NFF representative.
