Kano Pillars
new kid sensation, Ibrahim Alassan was unanimously selected as the Man-of-the-Match after Sunday’s matchday six of the Nigeria Professional Football League
(NPFL) between Kano Pillars and Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) FC, Sportinglens.blogspot.com reports.
Adamu
Muhammad’s late goal ensured that Sai Masu Gida secured maximum three points against
the Ilorin-based outfit in a match played at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano.
The former
Gombe United striker, who came on from the bench at 60th minute as a substitute
for captain Gambo Muhammad, scored 92nd minute goal with a volley
after he received a pullout from Hamza Abba Tiya inside the 18 yard box.
After the
match, over twenty journalists that covered the match picked Ibrahim Alassan 'Igilo' as the outstanding player in the game.
Alassan
expressed delight for his Man-of-the-Match award as he described his performance
as a God’s making and collective efforts of his teammates.
The 17-year-old young star, who joined Kano Pillars
from Shekarau Babes FC at the beginning of the season, pledged to do more for the
success of the club while urging fans to continue praying for the team.
Alassan was
awarded with brand new Kano Pillars jersey courtesy of Sports Writers Association
of Nigeria, Kano State chapter.
Presenting
the jersey to him, the chief coach of the Super Eagles, Salisu Yusif congratulated
him and commended SWAN Kano for coming up with this new idea which he said
would be a motivation factor to the players. He urged other branches of the
association to emulate Kano SWAN.
In his post
match remarks Kano Pillars technical adviser, Kdiri Ikhana (MON) thanked God
for the victory and expressed hope that his boys will gradually revive the
glory of the team.
The head
coach of ABS said his boys lost the game at injury time due to inexperience.
