Plateau
United technical adviser, Kennedy Boboye has revealed that his wards won’t get
carried away with their recent feat and will keep their fighting spirit until
they achieve their set goals for the season.
Sportinglens.blogspot.com reports that the
Jos-based outfit continued their winning streak on Wednesday after beating El
Kanemi Warriors 2-0 in the matchday 7 of the Nigeria Professional Football
League (NPFL in Jos. The win saw them extended their lead on top of the table to four
points.
The former
Abia Warriors gaffer attributed his team’s resurgence in the league this season
to determination and hard work.
“We will
keep going like that in as much as we work very hard and correct our mistakes,”
Boboye said.
He added: “It
is not as if we were not encountered any difficulty in some of our games; in
the game against Katsina United were very lucky not to lose that match because
the players kept playing to instructions. We lost chances and they lost theirs
too but the players kept playing to instruction and it was helpful. If we keep
playing to instructions and with determination we will keep going well.”
The former
Sunshine Stars of Akure manager also said his pep-talk to players encouraged
them to secure a victory over El Kanemi as he vowed to push for point in the
next game against Akwa United.
“El Kanemi has always came to Jos to pick
draws and go back like that; but I told my players before the match on
Wednesday that this is a derby game and we have to
win which they did. We will not relent in the next game against Akwa
United. We will go there to fight. We will continue with our fighting spirit
and winning mentality with hope of getting something from the game.”
