We are not scared of big teams anymore, says Odey

By Taofeek Babalola

Rave of the moment, Stephen Odey says Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries (MFM) FC are now a force to be reckoned with in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) after his side’s 2-1 win over Rangers International in a matchday 10 clash on Friday.

Odey scored the second goal to make his season’s goal tally to six after Olatunbosun Sikiru had netted first goal in the 30th minute. Bobby Clement scored a consolation for the Flying Antelopes.

MFM were unable to pick maximum points against top big clubs last season but the league top scorer believes that the feat recorded against Kano Pillars and Rangers International respectively this season have shown that the Olukoya Boys have come of age in the league.

“We are improving game after game. Despite what we did last season many people still said that we didn’t beat big teams. We have defeated Kano Pillars and Rangers this season and I think our performances this season are a good signal that we are now a force in the league. We are very focused and determined to achieve something tangible this season,” Odey told Sportinglens.blogspot.com.

“If you look at the way we are playing this season you will agree with me that we have a lot of confidence in the team now. We are getting used to ourselves and the blending is perfect now. We can confront any team without difficulty and I pray that God will see us through at the end of the day.”
