El Kanemi Warriors forward, Hussaini Mohammed
Bata has
expressed joy over his side’s away win over Abia Warriors in a match day nine
of Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) on Sunday at the Umuahia
Township Stadium.
Bata scored 8th minute goal that gave Borno Army an away
win for the first time since July 2013 when they defeated Wikki Tourists in
Bauchi, ending a run of 68 matches.
The undergraduate student of the University of Maiduguri
player told Sportinglens.blogspot.com that his side has been looking for away win for a very
long time, insisting that the feat would propel them towards achieving
something tangible for the club this season.
Bata said he and his teammates will build on Abia
Warriors’ win and continue winning their home matches.
“We're all excited
because the victory means a lot to us. I am very happy and that is what the
team has been looking for since. We all pray Allah to give us successful
winning in our home matches because they are very important to us and our
fans,” Bata said to Sportinglens.blogspot.com.
El Kanemi’s win on Sunday also contributed to the
resignation of coach Felix Okay Emordi as Abia Warriors technical adviser on Monday.
“Ha...ha...ha, but it is too early for things like this. I wish
the coach well in his career,” he added.
