Claudio
Bravo has completed his move from Barcelona to Manchester City on a four-year
deal. The Chilean
goalkeeper completed his medical at the club earlier this week, but the move
was held up while Barcelona waited for official confirmation that they had
signed Jasper Cillessen as Bravo's replacement.
That deal
was finalised earlier today, paving the way for Bravo to complete his move to
the Etihad Stadium for an undisclosed fee - thought to be around £15.4m.
"I'm
very proud to be joining Manchester City. I know the club is building something
very special and I hope I can be part of many successes in the coming years. I
have followed City's progress in recent years and obviously know some of my new
teammates from the Copa America," he told the club's official website.
"It is
not easy to leave a club like Barcelona where I had two fantastic years, but
the opportunity to work with Pep Guardiola was too good to refuse. Now I will
challenge the other great goalkeepers the club has and together I hope we can
win many trophies."
