Tourists technical adviser, Abdul Maikaba has confirmed that Uche Martins could
make his return to active football in the next four weeks. The former
Plateau United forward undergone surgery on his troubled knee at Daisyland
Hospital in Jos few weeks back.
In a chat
with Sportinglens.blogspot.com, Maikaba described former JUTH FC of Jos striker as a goal
poacher whose impact has been missed in the team.
“Martins has
been playing with injury for a very long time and I advised him to go for
medical advice on his trouble knee. He visited a doctor at the National
Orthopedic Hospital, Kano, for advice but the operati
on was carried out at a
Hospital in Jos. Doctor said he would be out of action for six weeks and he has
spent two weeks now, and hopefully he could make his way back in four weeks
“Martins is
a utility player in our team and we called him ‘Maggi’ because he provides
something extra ordinary to the team. He always gives his best anytime he has
chance to play. We are missing him already and I can only pray for him to
return as a better player,” Maikaba prayed.
