Zamalek have
finalised a one-season loan deal for Wadi Degla striker Stanley Ohawuchi, the
club confirmed early on Tuesday.
"Officially,
Zamalek contracted Nigerian striker Stanley Ohawuchi for one season in loan
terms from Wadi Degla club," reads a statement on Zamalek's official
Facebook page that has around 5.4 million fans.
Their rivals
Ahly announced last week that they were in ongoing negotiations with the same
player.
The deal
finances haven't been officially revealed yet but Zamalek's chairman has
previously said the deal had reached LE 5 million.
Ahly and
Zamalek are both in need of a boost to their frontlines during the current
summer transfer window. The Reds sold key players Ramadan Sobhi and Malick
Evouna, while the Whites' striker Basem Morsi has been the club's only reliable
attacker in recent matches.
The 26-year
old Stanley has attracted the attention of the Cairo giants after being one of
the most prominent strikers in Egypt for a couple of years since joining from
the Maltese league in 2014, scoring 11 goals with Wadi Degla in the Egyptian
Premiere league last season.
Zamalek lost
the league title to rivals Ahly, ending the tournament second, while Wadi Degla
came in the fifth place.
In Egypt
Cup, Zamalek will play Ismaily on Wednesday, one day before Ahly take on ENPPI.
