Super Eagles
vice captain, Eddy Ogenyi Onazi has signed a four-year-deal worth €5m with
Turkish Super League side, Trabzonspor. The Nigerian
international is a former Biancocelesti youth player, having broken into the
first team squad in 2012.
The
23-year-old is reportedly surplus to requirements at Stadio Olimpico and he has
finally made the switch after undergoing a medical at Liz Hospital in Istanbul,
Turkey.
This was
made known by the player himself who posted on his Instagram page a heartfelt
thank you message to former club Lazio, while also wishing the club well in
their future endeavors.
According to
La Repubblica, an agreement over the transfer was reached between all parties
weeks ago, but the instability and turmoil of recent events in Turkey delayed
the deal from going through.
The Italian
newspaper claimed that the Trabzonspor President, the player himself and his
agent were at Formello Monday night to iron out the final details of the
switch.
