Enyimba head coach, Paul Aigbogun believes his side have been
hurled back into the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) title race
after they beat Akwa United 2-1 on Saturday.
The champions currently have underwhelmed this season but are
just six points adrift of top spot and have played a game less than the
leaders, Wikki Tourists.
Aigbogun insists no one in the Enyimba camp will be throwing
in the towel any time soon as the People’s Elephant look to finish the season
in barn storming fashion.
“We are still in the running not just in the league but also
in the Federation Cup. We will take one game as it comes and what I can assure
the fans is that we will give one hundred percent in every game that we play.
“By the grace of God it will work out fine in the end,” he
told supersport.com.
Enyimba currently occupies sixth place on the NPFL standings
with 48 points from 29 matches.
